The 66th annual St. Mary’s County Science and Engineering Fair was held on Friday, January 16th 2026. The Fair was held at the Southern Maryland Autonomous Research and Technology (SMART) Building, on the Campus of the University System of Maryland at Southern Maryland (USMSM) in California, Maryland. There were 138 projects entered in the Fair, with a total of 153 student competitors.
The Senior Category Grand Award winners were Diana Wyman with her project ‘Nature’s Solution to Microplastic Pollution’ and Paul Savvas with his project ‘InfantGuard’. Junior Category Grand Award winners were Andrew Ellerbe with his project ‘Stick to the Beat’, and Camille Winings with her project ‘Motion Controlled Robot Rescue Hand’.
Attached is a list of all 1st and 2nd place winners who are all invited to attend the Prince George’s (PG) Regional Fair. Any Senior student competitors who win Grand Award at the PG Regional Fair will be invited to compete in the International Science and Engineering Fair which will be held this year in Phoenix, Arizona.
