The 2025 Prince George’s County Regional Science and Engineering Fair

The Prince George’s County Regional Science and Engineering Fair was held on March 15. 31 students from St Mary’s County competed in the fair against other students from Prince George’s, Charles, and Calvert counties. Our student did an exceptional job!

St Mary’s County students swept 5 of the 6 total Grand Awards given in both the Junior and Senior Divisions. All 3 Junior Grand Awards were won by our St. Mary’s County students, and 2 of the 3 Senior Grand Awards were won by St. Mary’s County students as well.

In the Junior Division, Nathan Nilsson won 1st place Grand Award, Diana Wyman won 2nd place and 3rd place Grand Award was won by Kyler Cotugno.

In the Senior Division the team of Abril Esparza and Angela Hou won 1st place Grand Award, and Audrey Gutekunst won 2nd place Grand Award.

The Senior Division Grand Award winners will advance to the International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Columbus, Ohio May 10-16, 2025 to compete against the rest of the world.
